What you need to know about MedCommsDay

Here is everything you need to know about #MedComms Day 2019!

What is it?

#MedCommsDay is a day to recognise the medical communications industry, it’s importance within the life science industry and to show what a MedComms professional does in their day to day.

How is it celebrated?

There is no set way or plan for celebrating #MedCommsDay. It is completely up to each individual and company as to how they want to show their creative flair. Many companies like to do a “Day in the life of MedComms” and there are regular meet ups hosted in London for those in permanent MedComms roles and freelancers

What are Medcomms Professionals are doing?

Here at MedComms Professionals we, as always, are here and ready to offer obligation free career advice and a view into the current job market across the UK. To provide even further support we will be giving out free digital salary surveys to anyone that requests one.

Keep an eye out through the day on the MedComms Professionals social media pages (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) for an interview with the team’s newest member Jake Watts, photos and a brief snippet into the current job market.

Some highlights from last year:

AXON summarises their day’s activities across the globe.

It’s been business as usual across the AXON offices today; our offices in mainland Europe (Copenhagen and Switzerland) were the first to get started. In London we enjoyed a pizza lunch followed by a spectacular cake! Colleagues in Brighton enjoyed a coffee in the sunshine between deadlines. New York and Toronto came online in their respective timezones to continue the day. Some of our colleagues are fresh (?) back from ASCO and catching up. Busy, varied, cake-fuelled, but never dull….

Cognito Medical Communications in London reports… #incognito

The Cognito spy took over the agency’s twitter feed for #Medcomms Day. Unbeknownst to the team, he monitored a typical day in the office, from tea making to team meetings. He even managed to check in with the new Nucleus Academy members, finding out how they feel about the experience so far. As the day draws to a close, the spy has been reflecting on the different aspects of Cognito that he saw and decided to apply for our next Academy intake.

Envision Pharma Group’s team in Chicago. Travel safe guys.

Lucinda (Scientific Director), Helen (Senior Editor) and Alice (Project Assistant) are waiting to board a plane back to Manchester following a busy week at ASCO, Chicago!

Alice, who joined Envision Pharma Group back in December 2017, has experienced her first time onsite as part of a #MedComms agency and is already looking forward to her next trip!

Marketing Manager at inScience Communications has written to say this meeting is happening right now! Look carefully and you can see plentiful supplies of biscuits and cakes so I guess they’re in for the afternoon.

It’s the inScience Communications quarterly update meeting today. The Chester office assembles to hear what’s going on as we get to the half year point. Lots to talk about! We are welcoming 13 new staff members around the group and looking to the second half of the year.

Well done team and safe journey back home!
